Aero Fighters 2 is the sequel to one of the most popular arcade shooters ever made. Fans of the first installment will definitely not be disappointed. This shoot-'em-up features humongous end Bosses, fantastic graphics, cool special weapons, and an excitement level that will take its toll op your heart!

Join in the battle against mysterious alien forces that are attempting to take over the world in Aero Fighters, a 1992-1994 release. This single or dual mode shooter game is an Arcade Style, Super Famicom, and Super Nintendo platform - created and published by Video System, Co. The player takes the position as an Aero Fighter whose duty is to stop the invasion. There are 12 different planes that feature unique weapons, handling capabilities, and with various pilot personalities. The goal is to destroy the alien threat and to protect the world from destruction or further invasion.
The intensely detailed graphics convey the atmospheres to a future like setting. Each mission will vary depending on which plane the player is flying.
Battles take place with gun stations and tanks – by land, with helicopters and bombers – by air, or with battleships and submarines by sea. Aero Fighters functions from a top down perspective, which amplifies the overhead shooter action. With so many options in different planes, it takes great skill and flying ability to defeat the aliens and win the game. Looking for a shooter? AF3 will do the trick. Although there is nothing new here in the way of graphics, sound or style, AF3 will nonetheless keep you pounding away at the fire button.Choose from five different nationalities-each with its own types of planes and wacky pilots. Every plane comes equipped with its own unique, smart bomb that it can use to cause mass destruction.
Once in the pilot's seat, all you have to think about is hitting the fire button and collecting power-ups.Looking much like l94l,AF3's biggest plus is its bosses: they're big, tough and everywhere! You won't play for more than a minute at any given time without bumping into some juggernaut war machine bent on wiping you out.Unfortunately, on the weaker side, the bosses, while plentiful, are uninspired. You can only see so many tanks, ATVs, planes and ships before you break into a yawn.Aero Fighters 3 will surely satisfy your shooter needs, but on the whole, is nothing to cheer about. So, if you're all pumped-up on sugar, AF3 will heal what ails ya. Otherwise, don't waste your quarters. The arcade classic comes home!
The mammoth plane shrouds the morning sun-its shadowy outline masks its details and features, as it should: the jet is heavily armed with the latest weaponry. Suddenly, its jets roar and it takes to the sky! McO'River packs tons of action into seven killer levels! You also have four teams to pick from (and one hidden one). Play as pilots from Sweden ('I won!' ), Japan ('Why do I have to go along?' ), the United States, and England ('Where is she?'
Power-up your weapons to obscene levels and take on menacing Bosses with two-play-er simultaneous action! There is even a secret code that allows you to play as a pair of powerful bunnies that blow the competition completely away! All this including hidden bonus' stages!

Not only is the action intense and the power-ups plentiful, but you have a choice of 8 different pilots to choose from.
This gives the game a bit of variety that other older games in the genre lack. There are 10 levels to plow your way though and it is an all around enjoyable experience. While at times the shots flying around the screen can get a little intense, skilled players shouldn't have much of an issue. One gripe that I have is that you have an arcade style of continuing. This means that there is an unlimited amount of continues no matter how many times you die. At least in the final level you restart at the beginning each time you die. After you beat the game, it does a classic Ghosts 'n Goblins style repeat of the game's levels on a higher difficulty. The console port of Aero Fighters 2 is a near flawless rendition of the classic arcade shoot 'em up arcade game. Aside from the long loading time, (which is a common theme for NeoCD games) you will be hard pressed to find any differences between the 2 versions.
The controls are tight and the shot is near perfect for a non-turbo shoot 'em up. Instead of a single shot each time you press the button, you get a 3 shot burst which helps you sustain a steady rate of fire without having to press the button a million miles an hour. If you actually own a NeoGeo CD system, then you are already a fan of shoot 'em ups and fighting games. Barnes and noble. Aero Fighters 2, just like every shoot 'em up for the system is a must own. It supports up to two players and has 8 different aircraft to choose from, each equipped with unique primary and secondary weapons.

Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2015. Verified Purchase. Excellent product and service. This is a classic atari game for the 2600. A really cool game. Like a intensely tougher version of defender in my opinion. I really love it. Takes me back to the early 80's. Yars revenge atari.
Power-ups upgrade the look, power, size and shape of the shots. Bombs activate a special power that usually wipes off the enemies on the screen. The game has 10 stages (Japan, Brazil, Atlantic, U.S.A., France, Australia, Himalayas, Mexico, Hawaii and Space), all of them with a boss battle. Same as the usual bunch of shooters, but enjoyable. I like it but saying that ill play any shoot-em-up.
