Hello guys, I'm Allegretto from GUNTERS, nice to meet you!By reading some comments here and there, and with the recent launch of the game on Steam, I figured out it would be interesting to drive these new players on the right track.I'm not a native speaker and while I believe I'm not that bad at writing in English, do not mind the few spelling or grammatical mistakes you'll read on the following lines. This is the first part of my guide, which will consist in five parts, based on the five rarities. I will only talk about the cards I feel are good crafts, do not expect me to list the others. If you feel that I missed some of those good cards, feel free to leave comments under this post.Without further ado, let's start, shall we?COUNCIL FACTION. Mana Mania: this card is a must have in all Council decks, I never fought against one meta Council deck that doesn't run Mana Mania.
It's a great cycling tool, is free and gives you some precious mana advantage. Footman: Sword Council has never really been a meta thing AFAIK, it is often outshined by Hammer decks. Still Footman is a sure craft and is well balanced. Enchant Hammer / Enchant Sword: must have hero powers, they define what deck you will play.
Enchant Hammer over Enchant Sword in my opinion. The reason is stated in the Footman's description. Wreckless: a nice removal, a sure value. It is played in some decks, not a staple but definitely a good tool. Hammer Time: a must have in Council Hammer or Council Hammer/Staff decks.
It can be quite surprising because you never know what you get out from this spell but it never disappoints. Good cycling tool, great synergy with Amorous Armorer: a staple.
Rook: A good addition to Council Hammer decks, especially Rush ones. Nothing extraordinary imo but 3 health can be tricky to remove.DARK ELVES FACTION. Phantom: A 4x staple in every DE deck.
Best cycling tool, a 1/1 body for free and it has a lot of synergy with other cards in the faction. A top priority. Umbra Ritual: DE's Mana Mania. It can be worse or far better than the Council's equivalent. The synergy with Impaler can be crazy good. A 2x staple in every DE deck.
Extra Teeth: Strong card in animal decks. Many players are testing them right now, because they got additional tools to fight with, we'll see if they stay viable in the meta. Poison: For those Hearthstone players out here, it's your Mage's ping hero power. Stronger because it can deal damage over time, but weaker because it doesn't damage directly and is countered by armor units.
Overall, it's a great hero power and offers tons of synergy with other DE cards. Void Monk: Good statline for a 4 Mana hero but has rarely seen play. I run him 2x in one of my DE decks and he often do wonders. This is not a top priority card in any way, but still a good card.WARDEN FACTION.
Stoneling: A staple in all Warden decks. Statline is crazy for a 1 Mana hero, and it is not easily removed. You can't go wrong with this craft. Bramble: Good defensive tool and is a staple in Bramble decks. Vitality Harvest: Great hero power, it can give a significant mana advantage every turn. A must have in most Warden decks. Countered by Dark Altar but not everyone can afford it, plus they have to draw it, and you can still use this hero power during your turn by suiciding.
Summon Wisp: Good hero power, I prefer Vitality Harvest in the current meta but it is definitely viable.Ramp Warden will probably be a thing one day, and this hero power will be even better.GLADIATORS FACTION. Centurion: Same as Footman (see Council Faction), it's a good card.
I often see it run against me but I think it is way outclassed by other cards (such as the boar, the current MVP for 3 Mana). Indiana jones and the fate of atlantis remake. You can't go wrong by crafting it, but better options exist. Dust Devil: It's an okay removal, I used to see it a lot at low elo, I don't see it often in Champion rank. I dislike the RNG effect of the card: it can save your life or put you in a really bad spot. Best used on Council Apprentice. Sagittaria: A powerful and cheap card. A must craft.
Played in some decks meta decks, such as Warden's Veldan ones. The best bow hero at the moment.VERMIN FACTION. Rat: Another powerful and cheap card. It's an animal so it's even better than it was with the recent animal support changes.
Rats are often run 4x in most meta decks and they share a powerful synergy with Vurmen, the Rat King. Refurbish: A great support card. Now the problem is that there aren't many machine-type heroes. On a Gurgle Pot or a Tongue Bucket, it is pretty powerful but you won't run into a lot of them.
Still a great card and will be even better in the future.KETSALI FACTIONI wouldn't recommend crafting any cards from this faction, they are outclassed by other options. The new changes on the 1/6 bird could be okay in some animal decks.VIKING FACTION. Mighty Grip: Tech card in most Hammer decks.
Forge weapons, reshape the battlefield, raise armies, and build mighty fortified cities.
It is pretty powerful, hard to play against and can offer unexpected lethals. A really good card. That's it for the Basic Rarity!
Feel free to agree/disagree and let us know in the comments.Coming next: Part 2 on the Rare Rarity. Stay tuned and see you on the battlefield!. Cards that I've crafted that I can remember b/c they're basically critical in my decks: Veldan's Promise, Armorous Armor, Ioniclast, Cunning Apprentice, Nut Lobber.

For a long time, I wanted Brain Basher but it was too expensive, and now it's not on my list any more due to the rebalance towards DE animals.I had to craft some cards to pick up unlocks like Vermin the Rat King. I made a list of crafting costs (at the time) and mana usage so I could craft cheap cards with low mana usage. I hope it helps people with crafting strategy. Note this isn't comprehensive since I skipped over some cards I had but is a starting point.
